#bloodyuseful…… New Knickers For Me! – Hello Sydney KidsHello Sydney Kids

Thrilling news!!

Marks and Sparks Launches Dedicated Australian Website!!

Here’s a post for the Brits now in Oz, and those who’ve travelled to or lived in the UK.

NB For the non-British background readers, Marks and Spencers is universally nicknamed ‘Marks and Sparks’ at least in Scotland.

I have a pair of Marks and Sparks knickers which has given dedicated service for 20 years.

I bought this pair of black lacy knickers when I was a single young TV producer, living in Glasgow and working at the BBC. Far away and long ago.

My, those undies have seen a lot come and go. One husband, two international moves, four kids and a million wash cycles… I’d love to say they’re still going strong, but in fact there’s a wee hole on the side and I fear their best days are over.

Marks and Sparks has been online for a while but I’d never bought clothes from them as I don’t like paying postage and the distance seemed too long.

But – joy to behold – there’s now a dedicated Australian online store:

Marks and Spencer Australia website

This is so handy for we Aussies with British leanings because:

  • The editorial content on the site now fits Australian season
  • Prices are in Aussie dollars and clothes in Aussie sizes
  • Improved delivery times
  • Customer service operating hours are on Aussie time

Well, I bypassed the entire ‘Sexy Lingerie’ section and went over to ‘Briefs.’

Now I like my briefs to be not at all brief, these were for me.

There are a ridiculous number of undies to choose from… too many!  And I wish the ladies modelling them should breath out at some stage.

Check out the range of undies here.

Marks and Sparks Pyjamas + Nighties

I could get quite overexcited in this section. I’ve got a big emotional investment in Marks and Sparks nightwear as I still adore the tartan nightshirt and dressing gown that I got for my birthday just before Son Number 1 was born. And then didn’t take off for months!

Check out the range here.

These are my faves.

Marks and Sparks – 10,000 Items in Stock

In the UK, Marks and Sparks is a department store that stocks everything you need clothes and homewise.

The new Aussie site has 10,000 items. I’m drooling over the bed linen today but holding myself back as we’re spending so much on our beach house makeover, I can’t splash out at home. Boo!

Gorgeous bedlinen online here.

A trip to Marks and Sparks was always a big deal when I was a kid. There’s a huge store on Princes Street in Edinburgh and Mum would take all four of us kids and kit us out in clothes once a year. Marks and Sparks meant high quality and long lasting.

On trips back to Bonnie Scotland, I’ve popped in with the kids to make the odd purchase too  – mainly to buy raincoats!

Are you a Mark and Sparks fan? A bit nostalgic like me?

Have you used the old online store at all? Tried the new one?

I’ll let you know if these knickers are as tough as my old favourites. But please don’t ask to see photos!

Cheers
