Panasonic LUMIX GM1 – Some Photos Taken This Past Week

A moody day down at Dee Why …. one of a bazillion photos taken this past week.

Love the retro styling.

It’s small, it’s cute and it can link directly to a smartphone… now that is clever.

I have the enormous pleasure of test driving the brand new Panasonic LUMIX GM1 at the moment. It’s so brand new that it’s not even in the shops yet… coming mid-December.

I took this photo using a fisheye lens

I took the Lumix GM1 into a camera shop yesterday to ask about longer lenses and the assistant nearly fell over. He hadn’t had his hands on one yet but has heard of them and he was practically frothing at the mouth as he showed me a few different lenses.

Now, I’m not a pro photographer, but I need to be a competent amateur for this blogging malarkey. I’ve been enjoying learning some new things this year, and will push on with improving my photography next year.

You can set different filters in the camera itself – good fun.

This is hands down my favourite photo of the week… I took this at the Panansonic event where some bloggers were shown the cameras and given a workshop in their use.

I will write up a longer post on the LUMIX GM1 soon, and in fact I’m planning to make a little video so readers can get a really good impression on this new camera’s tiny size.

Always a sucker for stained glass windows

After the afternoon tea was over…. the event was held at Boronia House in Mosman, very pretty spot

I deliberately overexposed this photo in the camera, I like the washed out look

Kids jumping down at Dee Why… took this shot at a 3-hour workshop on photographing children… and more info on that coming in a post soon too

Seagulls at Dee Why… i didn’t take this shot, blogger Julie Cross did when she borrowed the Lumix

My daughter in our kitchen… how many years have I been asking kids NOT to sit on the kitchen bench for??

One very, very cheeky son

Teen14 at his parkour class… I was practising using the Lumix on manual inside the gym, quite tricky when the boys move very fast

Hope you enjoy these photos taken this past week.

More to follow.

This dinky camera is amazing, it’s handbag sized yet can do everything a huge DSLR can do.

A fuller review and video coming soon.

Enjoy your weekend, what are you up to??
