Thank You To Readers and Giveaway Winner
First of all, I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who responded to my request for feedback about the weekly emails.
Thank you!
The vast majority prefer the shorter email with links to the full posts so I have gone back to that. (I hope, anyway.) Apologies to the folks who liked the full posts better.

And announcing the winner of the wee pressies from Scotland… {drum roll please}…. it’s Chanel! And this is the sentence she wrote which made my heart stand still:
‘It was like the place had just absorbed me into itself. I was desperately in love with the western highlands. I stayed at Fort William and on a whim got off the train at Glenfinnan one day and trudged around amongst the mist and the rain (in February mind you) and loved every second of it. Sigh….I’ll get back there one day….’
Glenfinnan! I need to get back there someday too. it’s been too long.
Glenfinnan is a gorgeous spot is at the north end of Loch Shiel. I don’t have any photos myself but you can look some up on Google images here.
Glenfinnan is so beautiful and it’s also steeped in painful, romantic history. It was the place where Bonnie Prince Charlie raised his standard, marking the start of the 1745 Jacobite uprising. It’s also where the huge railways bridges are that feature in the Harry Potter movies.
Myself, Dexbox and Minnie the Minx visited the battlefield at Culloden when the ’45 uprising came to its bloody, tragic conclusion. Very moving.

This fellow was telling stories of the Jacobites. He wears the white cockade on his bonnet, the mark of the Jacobites.
Thanks Chanel and all who entered the giveaway. It felt good to spread a little Scottish love with blog readers.
Hope that you have a good weekend ahead of you.
All the best for it
