The Kids Club At Castaway Island – A Family Review

One of the reasons Fiji is such a popular family holiday destination is that the Fijians are very warm and loving towards children – so Fiji has some excellent kids clubs.
Castaway Island is no exception, its kids club has terrific, engaging staff who organise an interesting mix of fun activitities for kids.
Contributor Averil Cutroni visited Castaway Island with her family, her full Castaway Island review is here. Here’s Averil’s report on the kids club.

The Kids Club at Castaway Island
This was our first ever experience of kids club, and needless to say we are now huge fans! They take kids from age three, whereas a lot of other places in Fiji take them from age four.
This meant that our daughter could go with her big brothers and we sometimes got a break from all three of the kids at once. This never ever happens at home!
The sessions run from 9am – 4.30pm and then from 6.30pm to 10pm. At the beginning ours were a little reluctant to go, but after a couple of days they made a few friends and they couldn’t get there fast enough!
The kids club offers different activities each day, such as sandcastle competitions, nature walks, craft, ball games, coconut husking and during the day sessions they often ended up at the family pool for a couple of hours.

One evening they even dressed the kids up in Fijian costumes and brought them up to the main lounge to perform a song and dance alongside the traditional performers. Another evening they had a bonfire on the beach, and told stories and toasted marshmallows.
The staff running kids club were truly wonderful, I felt very comfortable leaving the children there and our kids are still raving about how much fun they had!
There is also a babysitting/nanny service, which we didn’t use, but I spoke to some other families with babies that did, and they were very happy. A few of the ladies have small children of their own at home too.
