$2015 in 2015 – Decluttering for a good cause

Hello there, just thought that I must pop up a post about working with World Vision this year.

Our family sponsors two children in Africa, and I’m delighted to be part of World Vision’s blogger group.

in 2015 all of us are aiming to raise $2015 for World Vision – should be achievable.

The request to do this started just as I started decluttering the house… it’ll take me all of 2015 to do it, so I thought the two campaigns could work hand in hand.

So, I’ve been advertising bits and pieces that we don’t need any more on Facebook, Twitter, by email to friends, and on Ebay.

Anyway, so far I’ve raised $381. I’ve managed to sell off:

old toys (for a puppy to play with)

my first Fitbit

farm play set

Playmobil toys

A couple of friends donated as my birthday present

NB – so sorry lots of people emailed about the beach house and it’s all booked up now – sorry!!

I’m also going to see if anyone would like to rent our beach house over Easter and perhaps at some other times. That’s the house above. It’s right on this beach.

Gorgeous!!

I know!!

We don’t generally rent it out, friends do stay and donate to my Can Too fundraising, so I thought I’d do the same for World Vision.  We let people stay for about half the rate we could charge commercially, plus they pay direct to the charity so the holiday is tax deductible – everybody wins.

Thank you!!

I think I will list a few things here on the blog as I declutter too.

If you would just send me an email seana at seanasmith dot com

Would you be interested in renting the beach house at beautiful Jervis Bay over Easter?

Cheers
