Aide De Camp Nadine Travel Tote Review

If you’re like me and you’ve got a LOT going on in your life, and also a lot being packed in your handbag… including a camera or two…. read on!
I’ve been trialling the new Nadine Travel Tote from the Singaporean brand Aide De Camp, and am here to tell you that it’s huge and it’s tough and it can protect even your most precious lenses… and lipsticks.

So far the Nadine has accompanied me to Auckland, Jervis Bay, the Hunter Valley and Orange… I also take it when I am about and about in Sydney with my laptop and cameras.

The one thing that has been remarked upon constantly is the handiness of having the padded box which sits inside but can.
Everyone loves the compartments and how easy they make finding everything.
These padded boxes are common in bags which are used for cameras, but honestly, I think every woman would love them in every bag.

Here’s a typical day out. My Sony A7 camera plus purse, glasses, make up and tissues… plus lots of other bits and pieces in the pockets.
Here are the crucial things to know about this bag:
- it’s made of tough canvas
- it’s very light
- the canvas is water-resistant
- there’s a padded side section for your laptop
- that padding can be removed and used as a baby change mat (cool!)
- the padding box has removeable velcro dividers so can be configured many ways
- there’s a fitted trolley sleeve for using with wheeled suitcases when travelling (so handy at the airport)
- the bag can be zipped closed
- there are three exterior pockets which aren’t zipped (I keep my business cards and pens in them)
- inside there’s a zipped pocket and two other pockets
- dimensions are: width: 57cm x 29.2cm x 24.1cm (that’s big)
- if you take the padded box out, the bag can be used for clothes, swimming cossies, picnic things (yes, we’ve done all that)

Photo from the website… this person is clearly much neater than me!

My version with the padded box adjusted to make two sections, just carrying my Sony A7 and my Canon Eos 5 Mark 1 and purse
The bag isn’t cheap at $269, however, it’s a high quality item which will last years, and might save you the cost of a broken camera.
The Aide De Camp Story
Aide De Camp makes stylish and practical camera bags because that’s what its founder Michele Ng found herself in need of… with no good options. Instead of wrapping her camera is something soft and popping it into a normal bag, she decided to create the bag she needed herself.
There are now seven beautiful bags in the range.
See the full range on the Aide De Camp website here.
Here in Australia, you can buy the bag from the delightful Camera Chick website here.

I have the charcoal Nadine Travel Tote, it also comes in cream and slate
So, how does the Nadine look?
How do you carry your camera around when with the kids?
Happy travels!

Many thanks to Aide De Camp for gifting the Nadine tote bag to me. I’ll be using it for many years.
