Glad to have got that call from Sulaymaniyah

So our Intn’l Man of Mystery has gone off to Kurdistan to talk to a man about an oil rig.  The children miss him a lot.  I find some upsides to his absence, I can throw my clothes all over the bathroom, be slack and slovenly in my domestic arrangements.  But there’s a him-shaped piece missing in the family, and we’re all glad that it’s just a two week absence.

But, especially this week, we know we are so lucky that he’ll be coming home to us.  He called today from a small city called Sulaymaniyah, sounding good, safe and well, and assuring me that there’s no driving at night, and yes, the security guy knows his stuff.

My husband works hard for his family, and tonight I am grateful to him for that and grateful that, though he’s far away, he’s sleeping safely tonight.

Linking up with the lovely Maxabella’s Weekend Grateful, today hosted by Mira Narnie, pop on over!
