Grateful and Gobsmacked – Couch-to-5K
Until ten weeks ago, running for 30 minutes was so far out of reach as to be astral.
Couch-to-5k has been the answer for me, as it has been for many many people. I’m so proud of myself.
And I never even got to the 5k… the most I did with a 30 minute run was 4k, but 4k is OK.
Now all right then, I am the world’s laziest exerciser and have to admit that I run on the machines at the gyms, which is much easier than road running… and I am running very slow, jogging in fact. But no need to get technical.
It’s a start and what I say about exercise is… at least you’re doing something and any exercise at all is better than lying on the sofa eating chocolates… which is probably what I would have been doing otherwise.
You can read lots about the original Couch-to-5k program here.
There are lots of resources for running here… so I better get over there and get reading.
This healthy lifestyle is building a momentum. Where to next?
Quick jog to the fridge for a Friday night glass of vino bianco maybe?
So today I am grateful for running programs, legs to run on and fridges and glasses of wine too.
Have you done Couch-to-5k? What did you do next? Any advice for an old duck like me?
