Ice Rinks + Winter Festivals in Sydney These School Holidays July 2016
Did you know that there are four winter festivals in Sydney these school holidays plus one in the Hunter Valley too?
If you love to skate and throw snowballs, here’s where you can indulge!
NB Most rinks do allow very young kids to skate. The cost of the session usually includes ice skates. It’s always best to book your slot ahead via the websites.

Frosty Winter Festivals in Sydney

Parramatta
Parramatta Winterlight
When: Thursday 30th June – Sunday 17th July 2016
Where: Prince Alfred Square, Parramatta
Parramatta’s winter festival features Sydney’s biggest open-air ice rink, plus a 20 metre ice slide, a Snowflake garden and the illuminated Dream Wheel plus other amusement rides. There’s an Alpine winter food village and chocolate treats from Adora too. Great fun for families.

Cool Yule at Darling Harbour
When: 2nd – 17th July 2016
Where:
There’s an ice rink and you can book skating lessons there, plus a Frozen Forest, a Snow Pit and a Cool Yule Selfie Station. Enjoy some Frosty Fiction and Fun, with storytelling and activities for children presented by Monkey Baa Theatre Company.

Bondi Winter Magic
When: Friday 1st July – Sunday 17th July
Where: Bondi Beach
A beachside ice rink? It must be Bondi’s Winter Magic Festival! Sessions last 45 minutes and can be booked via the website. There are also camel rides at weekends, history walks and lots of specials on kids’ meals at the local cafes.

Winter Festival at St Mary’s Cathedral
When: 30th June – 17th July
Where: St Mary’s Cathedral, St Mary’s Road, Sydney
Skate on the outdoor rink, enjoy food and drinks from the winter food market and other wintery activities.

Snow Time In The Gardens
Snow Time in the Garden
When: June 25th – Sunday July 17th
Where: Hunter Valley Gardens
Always a family favourite, Snow Time in The Gardens is even bigger and better this year. There’s the Snow Time Play Zone, the Ice Toboggan is almost double the length it was last year and and the Ice Skating rink over 20% larger. There are also inflatable and the HVG Super Slide which is a huge 12 metres high and 35 metres long.
