Jervis Bay Beach House Painted White and A Working Easter Weekend

Well, bloody hell that felt like a long weekend.
And I don’t mean that in a good way at all.
We had a working long weekend for Easter, down at the beach house, getting it all ready and finalised (we hope) to hand over to Jervis Bay Rentals who will soon start managing it for us.
The house has to start paying its way, everyone in the family does. Kids, take note.

This is the main bedroom, I’d love to say I spent a lot of time lazing in it, but no!
The house is all wood panelled inside and the whole lot has been painted white ( or Antique White USA to be precise.) It looks fabulous.
We had the outside painted too and honestly it feels like having a brand new house.
Which we’re happy to share.

There’s been much discussion with Jervis Bay Rentals about what to call the house. We finally decided on:
On The Beach

Here’s the kitchen. I adore those bright, bright yellow work surfaces. Also the ocean views make washing up a lot less onerous than at home in Sydney.

Over Easter, we tidied up the garage, it was such a mess. We took the old fridge to the tip and a gigantic TV too that we once picked off the side of the road.
MUST STOP DOING THAT.
I did get quite overwhelmed with all the things to do, and being Commander In Chief of it all… and shouted at the kids and then burst into tears.

Thank goodness for chocolate, and for strategically applied glasses of white wine. And for husbands who take kids away to eat so that Mum can have some peace and quiet. And silence, oh beloved silence.
I am madly in love with the colours in this rug, by the way.
Next pix will be taken by a professional photographer for the Jervis Bay Rentals’ website. I’m dead keen to see how the photographer takes the shots – will learn a lot from seeing them, I am sure,

Isn’t life hideous when there’s far too much on your plate and none of it is edible?
Hope your Easter didn’t feature tantrums from mum and a whole lot of cleaning.
What did you do?
Seana xx
