John Cleese Told Me To Take A Blogging Break

Sunrise swimmer at North Narrabeen Rock Pool last Sunday morning.

That’s me off for a blogging break then. Cheerio the noo.

When I wrote about what I’ve been learning in my design and photography course, I mentioned a break was planned for June and here we are.

It really was John Cleese who told me to do it. When I was studying a section on creativity, I watched a long video in which John Cleese explained his throughts on creativity. It made a big impact.

‘To be creative we need space and time, an oasis where your tortoise mind can come out to play.’

‘The key to getting into a creative state is to avoid interruptions.’

‘If you’re racing around all day… you are not going to have any creative ideas.’

John Cleese

Here’s a short recent version of the talk. If you’re a creative person or wanting to tap into your creativity more, I can’t recommend it highly enough.

A longer 36 minute video is at  http://youtu.be/AU5x1Ea7NjQ

Hope you have a lovely month this June. I’ll be working on my photos and wrestling with the very complicated layout program InDesign.

With time and space, some exercise and a bit of baking.

What helps you to be more creative?

What would you cut out of your life to gain more space and time?

Happy playing
