Kids In The Park – 50 School Holiday Activities in Sydney (Updated)
Sydney Olympic Park isn’t just one of the most geographically central suburbs in Sydney, it’s also THE central suburb for school holiday activities for school aged children every school holidays.
Each school holidays, Sydney Olympic Park outdoes itself by offering more than 50 activities to keep the kids busy, and fit and healthy too.
And even better, many of them are free or very low cost.
The Urban Jungle Adventure Park – fun in the trees.
Myself and my kids have done a fair few of the activities on offer, including, the amazing flying trapeze run by Circus Arts in the grounds of the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre.
But before I tell you that story, I want to just list every activity that your kids can try over at Sydney Olympic Park.

The Flying Trapeze at Circus Arts, Sydney Olympic Park
Circus Arts is in the garden at the rear of Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre. You enter the garden via the main entrance of the Aquatic Centre.
This isn’t a cheap activity but it’s an amazing one. Lessons last one and a half hours and costs $55.
Flying trapeze can be done by children aged five – 15 years, and the maximum number of the group is 12.
Our Review
I took along Dexbox13 and twins Minnie the Minx and Rusty Rocket who are seven. The twins had done some flying trapeze earlier this year when we were lucky enough to be sent to review Club Med Bali. Dex had been very envious and was frothing at the mouth to have a fly around.
The safety briefing and putting on of harnesses takes a little bit of time and is done very carefully. Quite right.
Then the kids had a try on a fixed trapeze to learn the basic moves. The aim of the first lesson is to hang by the arms, then by the legs and to try to do a flying catch with an instructor.
I’ve edited my photos down and still have 82 good ones so I will pop some more up in a separate post.
My three absolutely loved this. They are bold and wiry little sprites and weren’t scared at all. They loved the teachers; circus people are so cool, are they not?
They especially loved chalking up before they tried some flying catches.
This was a HUGE treat for my three children and I’d like to thank Circus Arts and Sydney Olympic Park very much for hosting them. They’re a very lucky trio.
My mum-fail that day was not to bring the swimming cossies as we’d have loved to go straight in for a splash at the excellent leisure pool, water slides at the Aquatic Centre.
