Mermaiding By The Sea: Holiday Workshops At Wylie's Baths, Coogee

As a lover of all things ocean, it was a thrill to hear from Michaela Werner about her mermaiding company No Ripples.

Michaela has been a competitive swimmer and a freediver. Now, as a mum of three, she’s encouraging people to try out a monofin and connect with the ocean mermaid-style.

This summer No Ripples is running three full day workshops for junior mermaids. Here are the details.

       

Mermaiding By The Sea – School Holiday Workshop

When:  Wednesday 21st December

                 Monday 9th January

                 Friday 13th January

Drop off 8:30 – 9am, pick up 3:00 – 3:30pm

Where: Wylies Baths, 4B Neptune Street, Coogee

Age group: For children aged  7-14, who can already swim at least 25 metres unassisted and who love the ocean, sun, surf and mermaids

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Learn Mermaiding techniques in the water
  • Create Ocean Jewellery / Mermaid hair & Makeup
  • Discover Synchronised Mermaiding
  • Observe ocean tides / rips & currents
  • Perform Mermaid Rescue
  • Take pictures and videos underwater
  • Mermaid Yoga

Run by qualified and experienced Mermaid Instructors, each workshop has a maximum of 10 mermaids aged 7-14 years.

Comfortable clothes, hat, swimmers, goggles, towel x 2, water bottle, sunscreen, snacks and lunch

Hire of the beautiful mermaid fin for the duration of the workshop, Mermaid Certificate, pictures & edited video, silicon wristband “I am a Mermaid”,  self-created ocean jewellery
