Panasonic Lumix GM1 Review + Vlog

So last week I showed you some photos I’d taken with a brand new tiny camera that will hit the stores next week.

It’s a bit of a breakthrough camera, packing a whole lot of image quality punch into a very tiny body.

Here’s a wee video where I show you the size and talk about why it appeals to me, just a couple of minutes long.

No, I’m NOT a camera expert… just trying to be a competent amateur… it’s not 3/4 by the way it’s 4/5… MUST find out what they means!

Now I said I’d show some photos of my smartphone when linked to the Lumix GM1.

So, first you link the smartphone to the camera suing the camera’s own built-in wifi – very simple.  Then you click open the Panasonic Image App.

Here’s the view on my phone of what the camera is seeing. I could use the phone to control the camera.

Here’s the view on the phone of the photos on the camera.  It’s easy to drag a photo so that it transfers over to being stored on the phone.

And here’s one of those photos, now in my phone’s library and about to be sent to Instagram.  Quick and easy!

There are quite a few video reviews of the Lumix GM1 on Youtube.  If you’re a mum with a handbag full of children’s paraphenalia and very little room for a camera… could be a good choice for a Christmas pressie.  At $999 it’s not cheap, but that’s not a bad price at all for a camera that can do so much in a tiny handbag sized body.

We’ve just been away for a few days down the coast. More photos to follow.

Do you love using a proper camera like I do?

Or do you only ever take photos on your phone?

Happy snapping

Many thanks to Panasonic for gifting me the Lumix GM1 – it’s getting a serious workout.
