Recovery from PND – Use Humour!

This really made me hoot with laughter when a friend sent it to me…. it’s certainly true in this house.

When I was experiencing my worst depression, after the birth of my second son, I found it hard to smile, my face felt too stiff.

These days I am so grateful for a belly laugh, so glad that I can smile and who cares about the wrinkles revealed??!!

I use humour as a way to counteract stress and grumpiness, especial thanks to Billy Connolly and Eddie Izzard for their hilarious DVDs which have restored my sense of humour many times.

And I am always amused to get humourous pix sent by email – not so keen on the sugary, sentimental circular emails  but the sheerly hilarious will always be appreciated by me.

And here’s one of my favourite jokes:

Mummy, Mummy, Mummy! Why do I keep running round in circles?

Shut up!  Or I’ll nail your other food to the floor.

And another:

How many men does it take to wallpaper a room?

Depends on how thinly you slice them!

I’ve been chortling about both of them for about 20 years!

What makes you smile?  What brings out a great guffaw of laughter?
