Self Care on Sunday 10: Unsubscribe!

After last weekend’s e-switchoff, I got home on Monday night to the inbox from hell.

OK, most of it is about the kids, that’s true. Teachers’ emails, class mums’ emails, sporting team emails, music teacher emails, kids social lives’ emails. Everything in their life seems to be funnelled through me and my brain’s exploding just from trying to keep up with the kid-related correspondance.

Anyway, can’t do much about all that, it’s my work email.

So I was RUTHLESS last week, I read lots of email at my laptop and then immediately unsubscribed from all the non-essentials.

And there were heaps of them.  Mostly trying to sell me something. Others just trying to tell me something.

And I’m Sorry Bloggers But….

I have been subscribed to many blogs and most send an email whenever a post goes up. This means a LOT of emails.

This year, Google Reader has been working really well for me and I’ve been deleting a lot of blog post emails as soon as they hit the inbox.

I actually feel really bad about hiting UNSUBSCRIBE on bloggy emails, but I just have to.

Only the daily ones though. I love the bloggers who do as I do and just send out one email a week with links to all the posts they’ve put out.

Dear bloggers, would you think of doing that. I promise I’d re-subscribe.

Does your email inbox make your head explode?

Are you a ruthless unsubscriber?
