Slide The City at Centennial Parklands 15th -17th January

There’s only a week to go before an unusual aquatic activity hits Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs.

Slide The City is a three day watersliding event at Centennial Parklands. There will be a 300 metre slide set up, that’s three football pitches long.

The slide is made of padded vinyl, but don’t worry about your bottom though as you slide on an inflatable tube.

If you’re looking for something adventurous to do with your kids aged five and over and taller than 1.168 meters (46 inches), then you might want to check this out.

The only bad news is that the early bird tickets are long gone – boo hoo!

So the costs are now quite hefty.

Single Slider $25.00

You receive a mouthguard but have to provide (or buy there) your own inflatable tube.

Triple Slider $45.00

You receive a receive an inflatable tube and a mouthguard.

Ultimate Slider $60.00 – 3 hours of sliding

You receive a receive an upgraded inflatable tube and a mouthguard.

Slide The City – The Time Slots

When you buy tickets, you need to choose which wave you will join:

9am – 12pm (Ultimate Slider Wave #1) – For Morning Ultimate Sliders Only

12pm – 2pm (Wave #1) – Single and Tripe Sliders

2pm – 4pm (Wave #2) – Single and Triple Sliders

4pm – 7pm (Ultimate Slider Wave #2) – For Evening Ultimate Sliders Only

(PS My tip is to contact the organisers and book for whichever slot looks quieter.)

Slide The City – The Weather

Next Friday, Saturday and Sunday are looking great for sliding. The forecast is not too hot, so less chance of burning or boiling as you run around. There’s a bit of drizzle forecast but who cares. Friday will have wind which might be a bit tricky though.

The Slide The City Melbourne event takes place today so I will post some photos from there tonight and find out how it went.

I do know there was a similar event (from a different company0 in Sydney recently which Anne at Pretraveller wrote a very mixed review about here.

The Slide The City gang have honed their product in the USA, so here’s hoping it goes well and that sliders have fun.

We’ll all be wishing we’d bought the early bird tickets – live and learn!

Happy splashing
