A Mad Hatters Tea Party Explore the fantasy world of Alice in Wonderland at charming Meroogal, with storytelling, games, hat-making and fun, culminating in a special tea party for children. Ages 5+ Where Meroogal, Cnr West & Worrigee streets, Nowra When Thursday 14 April, 10.00am–Noon

Convict Pirates Explore the Hyde Park Barracks to find out about a group of Greek pirates transported as convicts and discover more about the intriguing world of pirates and plunder. This fun-filled program includes making your own pirate hat and solving a series of riddle to discover where the pirate treasure is buried! During your visit you can also swing in a hammock and try on some leg irons, plus take the fun children’s trail through the museum. Earn Your Tucker The sun is up at Rouse Hill House & Farm or Vaucluse House and it’s time to have fun and muck in to get the chores done. Help feed the chickens, collect the eggs, sort the grain, carry the milk and make the butter. Then sit down to enjoy your well-earned tucker! Digital Claymation Be inspired by our access all areas museum Elizabeth Farm to create a mini Claymation film. Working with the Digi Ed crew, children will learn how to write a narrative, create clay characters, design backdrops, shoot & edit footage, and add titles, music and sound effects to create their own film. Afterwards, parents are invited to join us for a mini film festival to show off the newly created Claymation masterpieces. Ages 8+ Where Elizabeth Farm When Mon 18 April, 9.00am–3.00pm

Elizabeth Farm Nightlight Tour As night falls at Elizabeth Farm the lamps are lit and the table is set, ready for visitors to experience Australia’s oldest house in a whole new light. On this candlelit tour, enjoy storytelling, exploring the night garden and seeing the house prepared for the evening as it would have been in colonial times. Tuck into a complimentary cake and hot drink on arrival, before discovering how the servants prepared the Macarthurs’ evening meal, bed and nocturnal activities. Rouse Hill House & Farm Nightlight tour Round up the family to experience our 19th-century house and farm at night. Start with a lesson about our nocturnal animals in the 1889 schoolhouse before venturing out to explore the sprawling property. See inside the Rouse family house lit at night – the table is set, so be quick as the family is just about to dine! Finish the evening with a hearty soup and sweet treats on the verandah. Butterfly Craft Hear about Alexander Macleay, the original owner of Elizabeth Bay House who once owned a magnificent collection of butterflies. See a similar collection of real butterflies during your visit to Elizabeth Bay House, marvel at the wonderful array of colours and types and be inspired to craft your own beautiful butterflies. Kite Flying There is so much to do at Rouse Hill House & Farm – farmyard trails, a tour of the house, a school lesson back in time and now kite-flying! Enjoy the wide, open spaces and big, blue sky to fly a kite in the property’s fields, after a lesson in the schoolhouse or a tour through historic Rouse Hill House. Drop in anytime. Unlock the secrets of our house museums with tailored tours for children and families. Discover the servant’s life at Elizabeth Farm, Elizabeth Bay House or Vaucluse House, take a farmyard tour at Rouse Hill House & Farm, or explore the 19th century charm of Meroogal. Regular tours run at each property during school holiday opening hours and are free with museum admission ($8 adult, $4 child/conc, $17 family, members free).
