The Good Coffee Guide To Australia From World Vision

We’ve been having THE BEST COFFEE recently and it’s all thanks to my husband’s old flatmate from uni.

Joop is a Dutch guy who survived sharing a flat with Paul and went on to work, like him, in the oil and gas business. Joop ended up working in South America where he married a local girl, Carmen.

They moved a few years ago to New Zealand and, from there, they started a coffee business, fuelled by passion for that marvellous brew.
These days both Joop and Carmen work on their coffee business, Joop’s drilling days are behind him. Their company is IncaFe, check out the website here.
Paul has been bringing it home and it really is superb.
IncaFe coffees are all organic and fairtrade.
Is that why they taste so good?

These days, it’s not hard to find coffee which is fairtrade, giving the farmers a fair return for their work and ensuring that no forced, child of trafficked labour is used. Good!
Even large supermarkets have plenty of fairtrade coffee on the shelves, and most of the cafes I frequest tend to as well.
If you are in any doubt about what constitutes guilt-free coffee, check out the Good Coffee Guide To Australia, produced by World Vision. There you’ll find listed all the fairtrade options available here. And IncaFe is mentioned of course.
I noticed that Nespresso wasn’t, but I’ve talked to the guys in the Nespresso shop in Chatswood about that and learned about their own Nespresso AAA Sustainable Quality Trade Program, read more about Nespresso’s sustainability efforts here.

World Vision has a campaign called Don’t Trade Lives, have a look at it here; it’s upsetting but there really are ways to improve peoples’ lives, even from far away here in Australia. The Ethical Shopping Guide can be found there.

Good on World Vision for bringing these uncomfortable truths into our comfortable lives, and for making it easy for Australian consumers to find which coffees are the best to drink in a truly global sense.
Right, who fancies a cuppa?
Do you aim to drink fairtrade coffee?
Have you tried Joop and Carmen’s IncaFe brand?
