The Gymnastic Mat My Daughter Loves
I posted this little video of my wee lass doing some speedy aerial cartwheels on Facebook recently and a few people asked me about the mat she has.
So I thought I’d do just a quick post to explain more about it and describe it’s good and tricky points.
The first thing I have to say is that it is expensive, at $209. Ms10 got it for her birthday, from us and using some birthday money from relatives.
I remember when we opened it thinking: ‘I really, really hope you are going to use this a lot.’
We bought the mat from a shop online, Gymnastics Direct. I’d have MUCH preferred to see it before we bought it, but I couldn’t find any shops nearby that stocked mats like this.
She chose the pink coloured mat, no surprise for a girl who has three brothers.
She uses it ALL THE TIME.
The mat is heavy, but when folded up one person can carry it around. It’s tough, it has to be. We don’t leave it outside overnight and it’s never got too wet, just a bit of light rain and it’s been fine.

So, that’s our mat story. I’d recommend this mat for its durability and size too. The company was quick to deliver it.
It’s expensive, that’s the downside, but it’s good quality and, for us, well worth it as she uses it such a lot. And let’s face it, it’s her head and neck we are hoping to keep intact.
