Founder Annika Coulson is a Northern Beaches local and a graphic designer by trade.
Why did you start the website?
Having grown up on the Northern Beaches I was familiar with everything I needed – where to shop, where to eat, where to go for a night out.
But then I became a mum and suddenly I was thrown into a whole new world I knew nothing about.
I knew there was a lot going on, I just didn’t know how to tap into it all of it.
The website went live at the end of August 2011 but I’ve had this idea for a few years. I was frustrated at the lack of information around on what to do with children on the Northern Beaches.
Then earlier this year I discovered Ella’s List in the Eastern Suburbs and thought – that’s what we need on our side of the Bridge!
After talking to a few Mum’s who didn’t know about any of our local carboot sales and markets I thought – I must act on this idea and get this website built! And so Northern Beaches Kids Guide was born.
Can you tell us a bit about your family?
I have 2 little girls, Hayley and Alexis. I also have a husband who I met at school (high school sweethearts) and I work part-time as a graphic designer.
Thanks for this helpful resource, Annika!
