Westpoint's Free School Holiday Fun

If you’re seeking out some free school holiday fun for the kids, here’s a cracking idea for you.
This one is worth travelling to.
The Hunt is Westpoint’s no-cost school holiday entertainment for kids; there’s heaps of great stuff on.
This post is brought to you by Nuffnang and Westpoint
The Hunt has an Alice in Wonderland theme, with many characters involved.

You and the kids will discover and explore all sorts of cool activities.
First the practical details:
Westpoint Shopping Centre
17 Patrick Street, Blacktown NSW 2148
Tel: 02 8825 2400
(see map at bottom of post too)
Westpoint website here
When: Saturday 2nd – Sunday 17th July 16
Hours: 10am – 3pm daily
There are four main activities:

Curious Creations on Level 1
Craft workshops for kids feature a clock to colour and keep in Week 1 and tea cups, tea pots and sugar bowls in Week 2.
Mad Hatters will help the kids with their craft and keep them entertained too.

Tall Tales on Level 2
A magnificent and very regal Queen of Hearts holds court in her own rose garden. There are books to read and beanbags to flop on.
The Queen tells the story of Alice in Wonderland and is very patient with the selfie-loving crowds.

Wonderland Maze on Level 4
There’s a real Maze up on Level 4, with many twists and turns and cool things to see and do. You never know what’s around the next corner.
Myself and the kids LOVED the magic mirrors, and the cute decorations too.
Alice and the White Rabbit and a Mad Hatter were great fun and very helpful to the kids too.
There’s a large chess board here too for those that love a game.
Level 4 is outdoors but undercover and has lots of cafés and space so this is a great place to eat a packed lunch or buy a meal or snack.
The Treasure Hunt
Collect a map from any of the locations above and then hunt down all the clues.
My twins could manage this on their own which they loved. We found all the clues over three levels of the shopping centre then they were thrilled to receive their prizes from the Customer Service Desk on Level 3.

A quick note
The young people who play the Alice in Wonderland characters were really excellent. They had kids all around them and answered all sorts of questions and we tremendously helpful. And they kept in character throughout, impressive.
Some bargain offers too
The flyer for The Hunt has a page of special offers at various shops in Westpoint including bargain haircuts, Flipout two for one passes and meal and snack offers. Very good.
Facebook Photo Competition
When we visited loads of kids and especially my own were loving taking photos with the characters.
Enter the Facebook competition to win 1 of 2 Sydney Merlin Family Annual Passes.
Just follow Westpoint Shopping Centre on Facebook, share the photo of yourself in the Wonderland Maze to the page and tag #TheHuntWestpoint to enter. Good luck!
So, if you are seeking out of bit of school holiday fun and games, and don’t want to spend a cent (for once!) then Westpoint’s The Hunt is a good spot for you.
All primary school aged children and younger would enjoy these activities.
And… you can get a bit of shopping done too! We were in and out of a few shops and picked up some grub for dinner too.
Well done to this western suburbs shopping centre for putting on top quality entertainment for kids, and for saving their parents money too.
My twins were very engaged and enjoyed themselves tremendously. The drive from our place was well worth it!
Hope you are enjoying the start of the school holidays.
