What's On At The Theatre These School Holidays – January 2016

We’re all for playing outdoors and not spending too much money. But school holidays is also a good time for treats, and a show at a theatre is just that.
For your delectation, here’s a list of all the theatre shows on these school holidays January 2016.

The Australian Ballet – Sleeping Beauty
The Australian Ballet is touring a Storytime Ballet production of the Sleeping Beauty, aimed at children aged three and up. Meet Sleeping Beauty and her prince, plus Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, the Big Bad Wolf, Puss in Boots and Bluebird.

Marian Street Theatre Workshops
Marian Street theatre doesn’t have a show on these January school holidays but there are drama workshops for junior thespians.

Monkey Baa Theatre Company – Sticks Stones Broken Bones
This holidays’ show is a shadow puppet play called Sticks Stones Broken Bones.
Dates: 20 January – 22 January

PS Monkey Baa also runs occasional playgroups in the foyer during school terms.
Extra: a visit to Monkey Baa then a play at the fantastic Darling Quarter Playground beside it is always a winner.

Puppeteria – Various Puppet Shows
The charming Jeral Puppets present shows for young children at Randwick and Castle Cove.

Riverside Theatres – La Verita and Cypher
La Verita – 7th – 17th January. A combination of circus, dance, acrobatics and music, ideal for children aged seven and over.
Cypher – 19th – 24th January is a visually stunning celebration of hip hop music, dance and culture. Suitable for all ages.

Running throughout the school holidays is the smash hit musical Matilda.
