Darwin's Excellent Wave Pool, Down At The Waterfront

We had an absolute ball the day we went to visit Darwin’s Wave Pool down at the waterfront precinct.
In fact the next time we go to Darwin – and I’d love to take all the kids there one day – I’d try to find somewhere to stay right down by the pool.

This is a huge area, fenced off from the rest of the waterfront and you pay a small fee to enter. The wave lagoon itself is about 4000 square metres – huge!
Waves can be huge, you can even use a boogie board, and the littlies might stick to the edges. Or they can be smaller. There’s plenty of other water play features as well to keep the kids amused.
You can pay to enter for either a half day session (10am – 2pm or 2pm – 6pm) or for the full day. Children under two years do not pay to enter.
The kiddies splash pools are pretty big and have great fountains for playing. But for Dexbox and I the waves were the attention grabbers.
And guaranteed croc-free too!

Dexbox11 and I also visited Kakadu National Park on this excellent visit to the fantastic Northern Territory.
Check out photos from the trip here.
Have you visited Darwin?
Did you surf at the wave pool?
