Our Family's Feline Fix-All – Hello Sydney KidsHello Sydney Kids
Well, I am so delighted to have more cute creatures to take photos of; the kids are patient but they get fed up with me flapping around them with a camera.
Fritz and Max came to our good home recently as they were two lovely cats who needed one.
I had been planning to get some cats for a while, but wanted to wait until the twins were old enough to be sensible and not engage in too much cat harassment.
These two beautiful Burmese are about ten years old and they needed a home together. Older is wiser (well, I would say that wouldn’t I?) and we live near the bush so cats whose hunting days were done are ideal for us.
No kittens please! We have enough little animals scampering around the house.
These two pussy cats are turning out to be a really good influence around the household, especially for me. On a daily basis, I am trying to model myself on them, here’s how:
- Whilst all is in chaos, sit up straight and just close your eyes and look superior.
- Spend large amounts of time relaxing languidly on the sofa.
- Curl up with a good friend and share many special moments.
- When fed, eat what you like then leave the rest.
- Never run, only amble.
- Be tolerant of noisy, pestering small children and larger drum-playing ones, grace them with your presence but never be perturbed by the racket.
I can do it, yes I can!
My kids are loving having furry friends at last. They give the bigger boys an opportunity to be affectionate and to smooth and stroke them- it’s gotta be good for them. The little ones follow them, talk to them, try to dress them up in dolly’s clothes (banned!) and love sitting still with a purring cat on their laps.
Do you have a pet? Is your pet your kids’ best friend?
